The below shown slabs range from 6+ feet long to 12+ feet long. They are approximately 3 in. thick and have two natural edges. These slabs were all cut December 2020 and are stacked, stickered and dry or drying; Priced at ~$10.00 a board foot, air dried condition for cash and carry sell. Shipping is available - estimated cost for crating, and shipping in USA $350-$650 in USA.
All of these slabs were sawn from a huge old growth western hemlock log removed from the Columbia River near Rainier, Oregon because it was a navigation hazard. The log as removed was approximateliy 60 feet long, 3 feet in diameter on the small end and about 6 feet in the diameter on the hollow butt end. The butt was hollow for about 16 feet up the log. The grain in the log is very tight, It is estimated that the tree lived for about 250 years. There is no way of knowing how long it has been in the river. The time in the river resulted in rich grey coloring of much of the wood. In addition to the below listed slabs there are some 4" thick and 6" thick mantles available as well as about 1000 board feet of clear vertical grain 1" lumber that is being kiln dried.
